Reece: Six Months

Whenever I would hear people talking about their babies and how old they are I always felt like anything 5 months and younger was still a tiny infant, but once they hit six months they became this big, grown up little baby. Contradicting, I know. And now Reece is six months. Now she is that big, grown up little baby.

Reece is growing like a chubby little weed! She weighs 16 pounds (50th percentile) and is 26.5 inches long (78th percentile). She was long and skinny when she was born, and now she's getting some meat on her bones! I love it. She's our little chunk and she couldn't be any cuter!

Some of her new favorite things are:

- Rolling around EVERYWHERE. I can't take my eyes off of her for a second when I'm changing her diaper or else I see a little naked bum rolling away from me.
- Saying "dada" over and over again. Especially when she's excited/angry/bored/happy/sad/tired. So... pretty much all the time.
- Hearing the itsy bitsy spider, little bunny foo foo, and you are my sunshine. Those always make her smile.
- Breathing in and out really fast through her nose when she gets excited or angry. She saw a video of her cousin Piper doing it and has been copying her ever since.
- Spinning on her tummy. She's getting really good at spinning around and has recently discovered how to scoot backwards.
- Reaching out and grabbing anything within her reach. Especially bracelets, binkies, clothes, or people.
- Watching Daddy dance like a crazy man. Makes her smile every time.

Reece is just the happiest most relaxed baby. Ever. She loves pretty much everybody and will go see anyone.  I love how she lights up every time she sees Derek. She is a smart little girl. You look at her and you can just see her wheels turning as she is soaking up everything you're saying and doing.

I am always torn between wanting my little, tiny, newborn Reece back and being so excited for all the fun things that are about to come! She is the sweetest little girl who has a smile for everyone at any time, day or night. We love our Reece Averie!

I Usually Stink at Shopping... but This Was Fun!

Last Friday my mom, Reece, and I took a trip out to North Bend to spend the day shopping at the outlets. I've never been much of a shopper. I get bored really fast. I get cranky really fast. And I feel like I'm going to die after twenty minutes. But when there are amazing deals and darling baby clothes, I'm in for the long haul. I could shop for Reece all day long.

Our first stop was Maurice's. I love this store. And they had an INCREDIBLE deal on jeans. Buy one get one free, and the first pair was 40% off the already marked down price. So my mom and I each got a pair of jeans for just $8.81. That's right. Less than nine bucks. I got two pairs, my mom got one, and we got one for Abbie. They are so comfortable and totally worth my $18.

Our next stop was Gymboree where there were so many cute things to look at! My mom and I eventually ended up going back at the end of the day and getting some stuff including a swimming suit, romper, and onesie for Reece. So cute.

After our first stop and Gymboree, we had to stop for Reece's lunch break.

We ended up going around to all the stores, and I got some great stuff! I got:
  • Two pairs of pants for me
  • A shirt for Derek from the Nike outlet
  • A dress for Reece
  • A swimming suit for Reece
  • Shoes for me
All for... $37.65!!! I was proud of the deals I got. It was such a fun day!

And we stopped at Subway for lunch. My sandwich was delish.

My 23rd Birthday

My birthday this year was absolutely wonderful! I woke up and walked to the stairs to find helium balloons tied to rocks, one on each step. When I got downstairs I saw a beautiful bouquet of flowers on the table, some wrapped gifts, and a gift certificate to the Salon and Spa. My awesome husband let me go out and pamper myself! It was amazing! My mom, Morgan, and I went and got manicures and pedicures.

Beautiful flowers from my rockin' hot husband.

Birthday mani/pedi!
Then we came home, had lunch, relaxed, Reece and I hung out, and then once Derek got home from work we went out to Old Spaghetti Factory for dinner with my parents. It was sooooo good. I love that place! And Reece was so stinkin' cute the whole time. Love her!

I love my cute little family. After dinner we came home and had family over for the opening of presents! My Aunt Patsy, Uncle Tom, and cousin Maddie were there as well as Marcie and her boys, and Brandon and Ashley. It was really fun to see everybody!

Derek knows the way to my heart. Nike.

I also got some really cute cardigans, a pretty tank top, and a yoga mat! (I've been doing hot yoga. And I love it.) For dessert we had rocky road brownies (amazing, by the way) and ice cream. It was such a wonderful birthday. Derek spoiled me beyond anything I could have expected. Love that man.

Happy Birthday to me.
