While I was in high school I had a counselor who was just incredible. Angela was kind, funny, understanding, and compassionate. She was the best!
When we got to Salt Lake City, I stayed at Devin's house. It was so much fun for Reece and I to be there! Not only did I get to spend some good time with my sister, but Chloe and Reece got to play, and it was so cute to see them together!
Angela's wedding was the next day, and so Reece and I got all dressed up, Michelle and her parents picked us up, and we went to the reception! It was so beautiful, and Angela was so surprised to see us there! Her reaction was priceless. She is such an amazing lady, and I am so, so, so happy for her and her new husband, Ben!
The Hicks drove home the next day, but because I have two sisters in Utah and my parents were coming down that weekend, I stayed! Devin and I just enjoyed our Saturday. We went to the store to get last minute stuff for Easter, and then we were going to take the girls to the park until a friend of hers posted that The Children's Place was having a closing sale, and everything was $1.99! So we hurried up, got the kids in the car, and ran to the store! This is a picture of just part of the haul. It was AWESOME. Reece has jeans up until she's five!
The line was really long (as I'm sure you can imagine) and so Reece just could not hold still. She was having a blast running around climbing in all the empty displays. I love my crazy little wild woman.
Reece and Chloe were quite tired of waiting at this point, but they just looked so cute standing there together. I love those two cuties!
My parents pulled into town on Saturday. They stopped by to say hi and to grab me and Reece and take us to Abbie's house! The next day was Easter, and I couldn't wait for Easter morning! I think I may have been a little more excited about it than Reece was, but she was pretty excited! The kids all gathered at this gate, waiting for the signal to start hunting for candy!
Reece did pretty well! This was her first official time hunting for candy. Her first Easter, she was just six months old. Her next Easter, she was just 18 months old and she was the only small child at the house, so we didn't do a real hunt. But this year, since we were with Jace, Hallie, and Brinley, we did a real hunt and she loved it! However, she thought it was way better to just eat the candy she found rather than put it in her basket. I just might have to agree with her on that one.
We watched the first session of General Conference at Abbie's home, and then my parents invited me to go along with them to the afternoon session at the conference center. So, we got all dressed up, and went to conference!
The next day, we took all the kiddos out for a picnic lunch and a day at the park! It was a lot of fun, and Reece loved this park. It's called Neptune Park in Saratoga Springs. If you're anywhere near this park, you should definitely take time to go visit! It's really cool.
My parents, me, and Abbie and her husband Adam went to the Bountiful Temple one evening. Abbie hired a babysitter for the kids, and we got to go enjoy a session at this gorgeous temple. Despite a small hiccup which involved Adam going back to the house and missing the session, it was a wonderful evening.
At some point (I don't remember the exact order of events), we spent a day out shopping. We went to a furniture store just to look around. My mom is shopping for a new bed, so she was looking specifically for that. I was just daydreaming and envisioning my dream home with all of this amazing furniture in it. If only we were millionaires.
Reece fell asleep in the car on the way to the store, so my dad held her and walked for a little bit, but then he just settled into one of the couches. It was set up with a TV, so all the grandkids ended up hanging out with grandpa, watching a show, while my mom and Abbie and I walked the store. It was really fun! After the furniture store, we went to Costco.
I love this picture of Reece and Hallie. These two cuties are just 15 months apart (which seems like a lot at this age, but that gap will slowly seem smaller as they get older), and I think they look so much alike! As Reece gets older I see more and more of Hallie in her each day. It's so fun to see so much family resemblance between all of these adorable cousins.
After spending a couple days at Abbie's house, we went back to stay with Devin and her family for a few days. One of those evenings (Thursday night maybe?) was Ian's Pinewood Derby! It was SO fun to get to be there and support him! He did awesome.
The next day we went to temple square. The weather was PERFECT, and Reece loved it! Being on temple square and seeing the beautiful flowers, being so close to the temple, and getting to walk through the visitor's center made for such a wonderful day.
Check out Reece and Chloe's smiles in this picture. I love it!
We had an awesome day at temple square, but on the way home I noticed Reece feeling a little feverish. When we got back to Devin's, I took her temperature and she had a temperature of 101.3! My poor little girl was sick, and she had been such a good trooper all day at temple square! So when we got back, we just snuggled on the couch and watched movies.
The next day was Leo's blessing day! It was a beautiful Sunday, and I loved that I got to be there for it. Leo is such a sweet little guy. I sat and held him, singing and talking with him, for close to 30 minutes, and he was completely engaged the whole time! He would even make little sounds and talk back to me! It was so stinking cute. He's such a sweet boy!
This trip to Utah was so wonderful! I loved getting to see my two sisters and spend time with their beautiful families.
